Dr. Carmina Fuentabella, a 26-year-old resident doctor at University of Santo Tomas Hospital, is fighting for her life after getting infected with COVID-19

A fellow doctor named Richard Mata revealed the sad news on social media


Dr. Mata revealed that Fuentabella is intubated and is in critical condition

One of her cousins posted her gratitude on social media for the people who expressed their support and prayers for Dr. Fuentabella.



A couple of celebrities also took to social media to urge netizens to pray for the brave doctor

Dr. Carmina Fuentabella, a 26-year-old resident doctor at University of Santo Tomas Hospital, is fighting for her life after getting infected with COVID-19.

KAMI learned that a fellow doctor named Richard Mata revealed the sad news on social media.

According to Dr. Mata, Fuentabella is intubated and is in critical condition.

“Pagdasal po natin. At least just say, ‘Jesus please heal Doctora Carmina Fuentabella, we need her.’

“Urgent need for prayer warriors to offer prayers of healing to one of our frontliners - Dr. Carmina Fuentebella, 26 years old, UST resident doctor who is now intubated and in critical condition,” Dr. Mata revealed on Facebook.



One of her cousins, Ma. Cristina Lapak, posted her gratitude on social media for the people who expressed their support and prayers for Dr. Fuentabella.

A couple of celebrities took to social media to urge netizens to pray for the brave doctor.

Zsa Zsa Padilla: “This was passed on to me. Please say a healing prayer for Dr Carmina Fuentebella. She needs our prayers right now.”

Jim Paredes: “Reposting this. She needs our prayers.”

Many doctors and nurses have been greatly affected by the pandemic, as they are the frontliners in the country’s battle against COVID-19.


One of the doctors who perished due to the virus is Dr. Sally Gatchalian, sister of comedienne Ruby Rodriguez. Another one is Dr. Ephraim Neal C. Orteza, brother of veteran actress-director Bibeth Orteza.
