The world oldest cat, Poppy, has died at the age of 24. In human years, she was 114.
The blind and deaf feline passed away on June 6, after a problem with her hind legs and a water infection, according to Mirror Online.Poppy received the Guinness World Record recognition in May, following the death of Pinky, a cat from Kansas who died at the age of 23 last year.
Born in February 1990, Poppy, who lives in Dorset, United Kingdom, was originally called Popsy and had two owners in her early days.
She was living with Jacqui and Andy West before she died. The couple who have two sons, also have four other cats, two rabbits and a hamster.
Jacqui, 43, said: "People always ask what we put Poppy's longevity down to and I guess she has a good diet and lots of exercise."
And despite her age and fraility, she is still the boss of the house.
"Poppy is definitely the top cat and she is still quite feisty. If one of the other cats tries to eat her food she will bite them on the ear," Jacqui added.
